I had my first ultrasound today and it did not go so well. I’m supposed to be 8 weeks pregnant (LMP April 18), but the doctor couldn’t find a heartbeat and she said that the ultrasound shows a 5-week embryo. They’re checking again in 2 weeks for any changes. I’m really worried that my pregnancy had ended at 5 weeks 😔 My cycles are usually quite regular: 28 days like clockwork. I tested positive on the 18th of May, 2 days after missing my period. I still have all the symptoms and no cramping or bleeding whatsoever. Anyone experienced the same? Please help 🙏🏼

if you are really sure of your dates and there is no way this could be a 5w pregnancy then I’m really sorry but it’s very unlikely to be good news. No heartbeat at 8w with 5w measurements means embryo stopped growing a while back. Sadly, Lots of women have missed miscarriages with no symptoms or signs of loss. I had one myself at 8 weeks, no growth since 6. I really hope ifs a dating issue but do prepare yourself. X

I agree that with those dates of the positive test it’s impossible you’re only 5 weeks so I’d prepare for bad news unfortunately.

Unfortunately symptoms mean nothing in these cases. I’ve had two missed miscarriages and I had symptoms with both. I needed to have surgery for one as it wasn’t happening naturally by 10 weeks (ended at 6 weeks) and I still had nausea and very sore breasts for 2 weeks after the surgery. Your body thinks it’s pregnant and you still have hormones of pregnancy so you’ll continue to have symptoms sadly.

No advice I'm afraid, but just wanted to wish you luck and I'm really sorry it's not good news for you :( xxxx

I hope this isn't the case for you but I would prepare for the worst (this helped me with my potential loss when it did happen). Baby was measuring only 6 weeks when it should have been 8. There was a heartbeat too, so i had hope that this was a good sign. It took 4 weeks later for me to miscarry.
