Spotting while on progesterone

8w5d pregnant. Taking progesterone due to a history of MC (3) since my last scan at 6w2d. Having some light pinky/orange discharge today when I wipe. Some slight cramping that feels like pulling along my lower abdomen.
I haven’t had sex or noticed that I’ve put the progesterone in too far (though I am taking it vaginally) so I’m convinced it’s bad news.

Does anyone have any good or bad experiences of spotting while taking progesterone? Due a follow up scan Tuesday which I asked for due to my history so I doubt they’d get me in sooner..

I had streaks of red blood when I wiped and was on Cyclogest and Lubion… it turned out to be a polyp, however.

Are you also on patches/oestrogen?

Just the cyclogest. It’s escalated to bright red now as well. Barely anything on the pad but seems a lot when I wipe.

What was the outcome? I’m on progesterone too, and having spotting. I’m 6 weeks

@Newmum1410 by some miracle everything is fine. I had a scan Tuesday and saw baby with a strong heartbeat. Couldn’t see a reason for the bleed.

I really thought there was no way it would be positive as I had bright red bleeding then brown for 2.5 days total. No clots though.

I was on progesterone from egg collection to 16w.

I bled throughout from 6 weeks to 13 weeks and then a one off at 15weeks.
pink, red, brown everything. And all has been fine - I’m 19w.

so many possible causes which aren’t MC - cervical irritation, fibroid, subchronic hematoma, blood vessels bursting due to increased blood flow (might aggravate this if your constipated too!).

I had fortnightly scans pretty much due to frequency of bleeds - nothing seen until 10 weeks when they saw a decent sized SCH - they couldn’t see it at all by week 15!

I was using it rectally too so I know it wasn’t cervical irritation (you can swap to rectally to rule that out if needed, not as bad as it sounds)

glad all was ok at your scan - just wanted to reassure, it happens quite a lot regardless of the progesterone as that only supports lining so if there is something else going on - it’ll still occur x
