Not positive anymore?!!

So I have been TTC and tracking my cycle. I got a second surge on an ovulation test which was strange and someone suggest I took a pregnancy test. I got a faint positive on Tuesday and Wednesday a stronger one and now nothing its been negative all week and Im due my period in 6 days. What’s going on?! Surely a positive is a positive and why would I test positive so early? I take it Im not pregnant now although my partner just says wait and see

You can get false positives if there is dye bleed or some tests are awful for evaps (Frer are awful for indents and many people find evaps with clearblue).
You are testing really early if AF isn’t due for 6 days though, most tests wouldn’t pick up so early. What tests did you use? Did you take pics? Did you read the test in the time specified?

10 days before your period is very early to get a positive test, so I'm wondering if it could have been a false positive. Did you read it within the timeframe?

Don't test until the day your period is due at the earliest
Tests will.be so much more reliable.

It was an amazon one step dip test. I know I was suprised that it was early and positive two days in a row and then nothing. I think I ovulated early in the cycle

You said you were tracking your cycle so how many dpo do you think you were when you got the positive? And if you were using OPKs when did you get the first positive OPK?

10 days before your period is too early for a true positive. For most people that only 4dpo and the embryo isn’t even formed enough yet to implant.

If you ovulated earlier than usual you’ll be due your period earlier than usual as well.

Obviously it’s very possible you did ovulate earlier but if you were tracking then when was your first surge and do you think that was actually the second?

My first surge and positive ovulation was 31 May. LMP 20th may and 30/31 day cycle. Second 5th June around that and felt like i ovulated a couple days later because of mucus etc and positive ovulation test for about 4 days

So do you mean you think you ovulated earlier or later in your cycle then? You said you think you ovulated early but then said you think you ovulated on the second surge which is later?
Obviously if you ovulated on 6th June and got a positive pregnancy test on 10th June that’s just impossible to be a true positive as it’s only 4dpo. But if you ovulated on 1-2 June after the first surge it’s possible to have got a positive test on 10th as you’d be 8-9dpo.

Yeah that sounds about right. I thought it was on second surge because I had true ovulation symptoms but then when I saw the positive thought I could have been caught early. Very confusing
