Hi Ladies,

could really do with some help here as am on a bit of a rollercoaster. Had round of IVF with fresh transfer, am currently 10 days post transfer. At 7dpt I had a heavily bleed that lasted two days, so assumed my period had come early and it was all over. Took a test today to just 100% confirm the fact so I could stop taking the pessaries as I’m off on holiday tomorrow.

i took one of the first response early detection ones and I think it looks positive- how could this be!?? Am I going crazy??? Is there a chance it’s the HCG trigger shot still in my system? I’m not exaggerating when I say full on bleed- I don’t know how I could possibly be pregnant, and don’t want to get my hopes up again. I’ve read this could happen with a eptopic pregnancy , but I’d be surprised if that happened since I have picture of the embroyo in the right place. I suppose there is nothing to do but wait until tomorrow and test again to see if the line grows darker? Thanks!

The trigger shot can take up to 14 days to leave, but it is possible to bleed and still be pregnant. I wouldn’t stop pessaries, go paraglide or plan any alcohol!

I had a really, really heavy bleed and negative at 14 days post transfer but continued to bleed for a couple of weeks. When I re tested (because the bleeding didn’t stop) it came up strong positive.
Sadly mc at 6 weeks, but I’m saying it is possible for you to be pregnant, although that test line looks a bit grey. Does it have more colour irl? Maybe get a digital. Good luck!

@Rosie86947 I didn’t do ivf, but from my googling after my ectopic it is still possible to have one doing ivf and the risk is even slightly higher. I think keep testing for now and see what happens. That is definitely a positive test either way!

Thanks @BGxxx , did you get your period or have bleeding before eptopic? I have no pain or symptoms yet but now worried they might suddenly show up.

No none at all, I think it’s rare for that to happen but I had no pain or bleeding until it ruptured at 7 weeks

Thanks @MyMindIsSoLoud and I’m sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage at 6w too and it was not nice. Yes the line is pinky red colour but faint. I will definitely continue to take pessaries and just see what happens. Will test again in a few days. It’s so hard not knowing!!

Awe .. Best of luck OP …
if it doesn’t happen for you this time , it will happen, eventhough I realise it must be very disappointing, but it will happen for you ..🤞🤞🤞
Best of luck with it all …🩷

I didn't know you could have risk of eptopic with IVF, I had a full proper 7 day 'period' when pregnant with my eptopic and had no signs til it ruptured around 7 weeks. Except I didn't know I was pregnant.
I also had a heavy bleed when 8 weeks pregnant with another pregnancy, which went full term. So there really is no way of knowing at this stage.

I'm sorry to see you've had a MC already, it really heightens everything for any future pregnancies especially with IVF too.
I keep my fingers crossed for you!

I took another early response test and same thing happened- faint pink line similar to previous one two days earlier but no darker. I went out and bought a boots own label one (meant to be early response too but looked at reviews after and they are terrible) and took it a few hours later and definite negative, so now I’m super confused. Maybe it was a chemical? I have ordered another pack of first response but am on holiday in the middle of nowhere- hopefully they arrive. Such a mind game!
