12 days late, did a pregnancy test last week come up with a faint positive and now when I keep doing one negative. But, started with spotting. Mild cramping. Had a pad on for two days and nothing on the pad, but just when I wipe.

Bleeding in pregnancy is common, I bled for 2 days on my first pregnancy, but if you tested negative after a positive then I'd say there's a risk of chemical.

However it could also be the hook effect as HCG got higher over the past week, but that is very rare from what I've heard.

Maybe call your GP and ask for a blood test, they could confirm.

@BeNavyLion yes, I just find it very odd. I'm never late, only when I have been pregnant. 12 days late is a long time for me , but it's not like my normal period either. Ive had a pad on for 2 days and nothing there, only when i wipes. Just, find it very strange how it was a faint positive and now negative. We wasn't trying or anything, infact my husband has a consultation for the snip as we already have three boys and wasn't having any more. I'm just worried as I had my middle son 8 weeks premature and my baby is 9 months old, and he was born 9 weeks premature, I PROMed at 29 weeks. So I was really worried. I think I might book in for some bloods. Thank you xxx

It seems quite late for an implantation bleed to be honest.

That doesn't mean you need to worry though, spotting throughout pregnancy is really common, I had several ones that were much heavier and am sat her with my 3 year old right now.

It's probably a bit too early to get a scan, even a private one, you usually need to be 6 weeks. The best way to check is to take another test, maybe tomorrow morning this will give you more of an idea.
