So....wondering if anyone can help calm my mind right now. I had a MMC in January, I'm old (43!) And now im pregnant again (currently 6 wks 4 days since 1st day of last period) my periods aren't overly regular these days, but I stupidly did yet another pregnancy test this morning with the week indicators on this time (fmu). Anyway, it's only giving me 2-3 weeks on the indicator, where I should surely be 3+ at this stage? I've got a private scan booked for Saturday, but I'm going out of my mind worrying about this now. Anyone with a positive experience from this situation? How accurate are these tests on weeks? Thanks :-( x

There are always posts on here about how someone never once got a 3+ on one of those digital tests, despite being 12/25/30 weeks pregnant 😂

I refuse to use the bloody things, more trouble than they're worth and expensive to boot.

See what your scan shows (it's still early days so don't expect to see too much!) and fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Thanks, it's so anxiety inducing. Especially when you're my age and have have had previous MMC ☹️

I'm 1 year off your age and have also had MCs. I know the feeling too well! Pregnant now with my second and am fortunately too busy running around after my toddler to obsess over this pregnancy.
I rarely know which week I'm in 🤣 never mind what equivalent size fruit the baby is or whether they have hair or fingernails etc 🤣

Massive congratulations on your pregnancy 😊 how far along are you?

Hahaha I think 23 or 24 weeks, as I said, never quite sure. October baby (better than the last one mid summer in Europe, far too hot to be in the newborn stage!)

Hope this one sticks for you! 🙏

I think it’s totally normal to worry and if a scan puts your mind at rest, then it’s the right thing to do.

I haven’t had the exact same situation but I do think those week indicator tests can be inaccurate. Mine actually showed I was further along, despite knowing my dates. So I would take them with a pinch of salt.

If your pregnancy symptoms seem normal and you’ve had no other issues of concern, I’m sure it’s just an anomaly. Best of luck.

I think you’ll get mixed answers to this! A friend was still getting 2-3 on the morning of their scan which showed a healthy baby with a heartbeat! For me I got it a few days later than I ‘should’ of based on when I got my 2-3 and it was bad news for me. I’ve also got a 3+ right on time and it was a mmc. I don’t think they can give you an answer either way

AnonKat · 11/06/2025 14:14

I got a three plus at 7 weeks. My tests progressed slowly. Im 14 weeks and baby is healthy at the moment.

WaitingForARainbow2 · 11/06/2025 14:15

Thank you. And good luck. 🥰

It’s really hard but don’t stress (from someone who obsesses over things after ectopic and multiple mmc’s!) - they aren’t very accurate. Can you get an early reassurance scan because of the mmc? I’ve had one and having another next week (I’m 8+1 by measurements, 8+4 by dates) but that may be due to the ectopic than the other losses… wishing you all the best!

Mrs777 · 11/06/2025 15:36

I’m 42 and had losses one of them last month, I also have 3 teens and getting pregnant with them happened in the first month, so I feel your stress, I’m hoping this one sticks ✨

Thank you, I have booked an early reassurance scan for Saturday to find out either way i guess, I'm panicking so much. Congratulations to you & I wish you all the best with your pregnancy too. Fingers crossed for us both. X

Thank you, I really hope this one sticks. My two other children are from a previous relationship, so this baby would be my first with my current partner ☹️ I hope you get your rainbow too. x
