Recently been advised that baby has a heart issue at our 20 week scan.
The heart seems to be working fine but one of the vessels (vena cava) isnt carrying the blood properly and it is being diverted via a different route.
A cardiac scan revealed nothing else abnormal which is positive.
The anatomy scan was also ok, no problems noted, normal growth, organs where they should be etc.
Fetal medicine have mentioned amnio for genetic testing. Im not keen on this due to the risks and also from researching, I cant fine any details about conditions which can cause this issue and how they can affect later life.
I feel a bit lost while im awaiting appointments.
Has anyone been told their baby has a heart defect like this and if so, what did you do?
How was baby when born?
Did you have additiinal testing?
