Maternity leave!

Hello girls..
so my employer is being an absolute bitch about my maternity leave and is being funny with me when I want to go. I currently travel an hour everyday to work! Am I entitled to tell her when I’m going on maternity leave?

You can decide when your maternity starts, but obviously that effects when it ends too. But of course you can choose

You're entitled to maternity leave, you can take it any time after you're 29 weeks. You do need to give them a certain amount of notice though - 28 days. So you can't really decide on a Friday at 32 weeks you can't be arsed anymore and tell them you're starting your leave the following Monday. If you're sick because of the pregnancy after 36 weeks your employer can start your maternity leave then even if you wanted to start later.
