Hot bath with essential oils

Hi guys, I’ve been feeling very anxious about this and I am worrying slightly. I had a hot bath with essential oils at 2 weeks pregnant (from conception) (4 weeks gestational age).
I am worried as I didn’t realise hot baths and essential oils are potentially damaging towards a developing fetus in the first trimester, the essential oils can be absorbed and cross into the womb during pregnancy and heat from a hot bath is damaging towards raising body temperature while pregnant. It is something that I have been very worried about since finding out I’m pregnant as it can affect the neural tube in development. Does anyone have any advice on this?

This is really not something I'd worry about. I know what it's like to be anxious in pregnancy and postpartum and so if I were you I'd do my best not to do too much research and put yourself on an nhs-website-only information diet. This saved my anxiety postpartum.

A lot of people wouldn’t even know they’re pregnant at the point you’re describing
The chances of a a hot bath with oil harming you / the baby are vanishingly small
You’ve got a long 9 months of pregnancy to go - so try not to panic over stuff like this
hot tubs and jacuzzis are generally not recommended but a bath at home is unlikely to be as hot as that
congrats on your pregnancy 💐

What essential oils did you use? It's not a blanket ban on all of them, but some are known to cause contractions so that's why you need to be wary.
Super hot baths are to be avoided but I'm sure it cooled quickly and doubt you were in sustained temperatures for a prolonged period of time. Unless you stayed in hours and kept topping it up to steaming hot levels I'd say that's fine. It has to be enough to raise your core temp for a prolonged period of time so again, unlikely.

I used aromatherapy sea salts with bergamont, geranium and vetiver essential oils which I believe do not cause contractions. Yes I didn’t keep topping up with hot water or stay in for very long, thank you for your reassurance, I’m probably just over panicking!

I lived in the bath with all of my pregnancies absolute bliss. All 5 kids are fine.

I had hot baths throughout my pregnancy. There’s not really any advice to give it’s done now I’m sure it will be fine

I was in a hot tub pregnant, no essentials oils mind.
I had no idea I was pregnant however over the weekend of using the hot tub it kept giving me headache and making me feel very weird, kept saying to everyone away with us that the hot tub was making me feel strange.
