Hey all. Hoping for some reassurance. I’m 8+4, had a scan a week ago with strong heartbeat and everything looking good. I’ve been pretty wiped with nausea and fatigue and bloating. Just now I had a small amount of blood when I wiped. It’s present when I wipe each time now, and isn’t bright red. It’s not transferring to a pad. I am so worried. I’m abroad, not back until later in the week, and feel helpless 😣 I’m not sure why I’m posting - reassurance maybe?

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this. Sometimes bleeding is normal in pregnancy or sadly it could be a miscarriage. The only way you will know is by getting a scan at your local emergency gynae unit once you are back home. I had some one off spotting with my first pregnancy at 6 weeks and also some bleeding at 22 weeks and she was fine. However I have had 2 miscarriages and they both started as spotting/brown bleeding on wiping. It's so hard to say. I hope you have someone with you who can give you support and hope everything works out ok for you x

Hello, so sorry to come back to this so much later. Thank you for such a kind reply.

I had some more brown bleeding, but barely a streak on a pad. I was really lucky and managed to see a doctor quite quickly abroad. She scanned me and all, amazingly, was well. She prescribed progesterone just in case, but the bleeding stopped after 2 days. Fingers crossed it stays away! Hoping that anyone reading this in the future takes some reassurance from my post too - I mostly found the worst case scenarios because I think people are more likely to share those stories rather than the thankfully uneventful ones!
