Baby Carrier

Not sure if this is the right place for this but didn’t know where else to post.

Can anyone recommend a good baby carrier? And are any suitable for premature babies? DS arrived early and weighs 5 pound and is a toot but don’t know if I’ll find a carrier suitable for someone so small?

I only want it for round the house, nipping to the shop and maybe beach walks. Don’t plan on using it when baby is over 1 as I suffer from back problems but think something that will allow me to be hands free to give DS1 attention would be handy

For a very small baby you're probably best with a stretchy wrap. I think many structured carriers would be too big.

Best would be if you can try some out at a sling library or have someone show you a few.

It's super important that it fits correctly and that your baby is positioned correctly (legs in an M shape, head close enough to kiss, rounded back, clear airway etc)

I don't know how suitable for teeny babies but ring slings were my fav with my second when he was newborn and up to 6 months. (Then I switched to back carrying with a mai tai)

Google a sling library (for example sheen slings) they have options to try and also receive by post. They’ll give you
good advice!

Sling libraries are great as you can try a few and learn to wrap.

for newborns wraps are best really but there’s many different sorts, including some that are semi tied already eg moby. I think a moby would be ideal but perhaps go to a sling meet or library to be taught how to with such a tiny.

thereafter when bigger a less stretchy rainbow wrap was great for a while, I loved my boba for front or back and also connector
