Toxoplasmosis risk from garden

Okay so was this risky? I’m 24 weeks pregnant and my son was playing in his mud kitchen. I gave him mud from the new compost but he went around digging other areas of the garden as well.

I jet washed his kitchen down after and handled some of the bowls etc to clean them and then came in and washed my hands and ate shortly after. But now I’m thinking about the toxo risk from the mud possibly being contaminated. I haven’t seen cats in the garden for a while but they have been in the last year. I washed my hands but just normally not excessively.

More than likely fine

I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Washing your hands thoroughly should be enough to get rid of any germs.
You could also get some disposable gloves if you want an extra layer of protection the next time you're in the garden.

I’ve been gardening throughout, with and without gloves - as long as your hands are thoroughly washed with hot water and soap you are fine. I go over with antibacterial gel too if I’ve been gardening.

Thank you
