Any support would be amazing as I feel like I’m crumbling!

I had my 12 week scan and everything was fine. The liquid was at 1mm apparently that’s good and got a 7th December due date.

I had the bloods done too and got a call on Thursday saying we’ve got a 1 in 36 chance of Edward’s syndrome and Patau’s syndrome.
I got offered two different tests, an invasive and one non invasive, so I’ve gone for the blood test option this coming Tuesday 10th June.

I feel helpless :( I do have diabetes and I’m 31. Apparently this ups my chances too! :(

does anybody have any guidance or support they can give me?

I'm sorry OP, I can only imagine how stressful and horrible it is to hear something like that 💕 It's purely anecdotal but I've seen lots of posts on here from people who had high risk reports at the combined screening, but the subsequent tests came back completely clear. There's every chance it could still be fine, so don't lose hope x

Hey! I had a 1 in 45 risk for downs syndrome at my screening which scared the life out of me. My previous pregnancy was like 1 in 10,000 chance. I worried myself sick for a few weeks waiting for the NIPT result to come back. It came back low chance and it definitely settled my nerves. However, i was told that i should have been offered an amniocentesis straight away since it was a high probably score. I wasnt offered one initially but had one at 19 weeks as my mind wasnt still totally at peace. The amnio results came back as negative as well but it definitely gave me much needed reassurance. I was a nervous wreck for weeks. Ive seen so many stories of people with high chance screening and everything turning out absolutely fine. Do what you need to do to settle your nerves! People ask me why i had the amnio but i am so so glad i did as it gave me proper reassurance. Hope everything is ok and try to remember its just a "screening" tool
