my wife and I have been together 10 years, we have 2 donor children. My wife carried both. We have used the same donor and I have miscarried twice previously.
I went for an early reassurance scan because of the previous losses and it has been anything but reassuring.
it was SO rushed, abdo scan for 30 seconds and then TV for 90 seconds, max.
she said the sac is there good shape and halo (whatever that means) but measuring 5 weeks and no yolk or pole visible.
I said that I track ovulation fastidiously due to using a private donor (not ivf, home insemination) so much pretty sure on dates, her reply “ah right” and we left, wanted to rescan me in two weeks.
I have regular 28 day cycles and have been like clockwork my whole life, only thing I’ve noticed is I ovulate more on day 16/17. But I got a BFP on what I think was 9DPO, so there’s no way I can be a week out.
I had a 3+ on digital last Friday so just 5 weeks, or so I thought, so I’m guessing with hcg that high and the gestational sac measuring behind and not pole or yolk sac, it’s a blighted ovum isn’t it?
I have minimal symptoms too, which I’ve read is typical for a blighted ovum.
am using progesterone pessaries which I’ve also read can delay miscarriage. Meant to be going to 4 hours away from home with the children for my birthday for a week next week and now my head is scrambled and don’t know what to do for the best!
