Positive strip test, negative digital test

Hi all

Help please!!!!

So I’m 12 DPO. Took a Sainsbury’s early pregnancy test yesterday and it was negative.. confined myself to most likely a negative month (despite having cramping a few days ago). Took the second test in the pack this morning to be sure - and amazing!!! A faint but absolutely present line!!! So I’ve been so happy all day, can’t wait to tell DH when he gets home, but just taken a digital test and it says negative… so obviously I’m crushed. Which one do I take as more reliable?? And is this just a chemical? (I had a chemical a year ago and nothing since then 🥲)

I’m 36 and we have a 4 year old already, for context…

What do you mean you’re more worried your pregnant?

I think wait a couple of days and then test again perhaps. I had a chemical pregnancy a month or so before we conceived our DD, and I hope this isn't another one for you!

Well then theres your answer- youre pregnant but hcg levels are not strong enough to show as a positive on clear blue, wait two days and test again especially if you are only 12dpo

Thank you ladies… I guess I’m more confused. Attaching another pic of my positive test - I’ve had enough Evaps to be pretty confident this is positive?? But then how can it be if clearblue is negative??

You are pregnant! Just wait a couple of days and test again with digital.

Hormone levels might not be high enough yet? I remember testing positive and it estimating 1-2 weeks on a digital one but being so faint it was barely there on the basic ones, on the same day.

Were they different urine samples? Was the first positive with fmu and the second negative with more dilute urine later in the day so not picking up enough hcg if you're still early on?

Perhaps like others say wait until tomorrow or the weekend and test again with fmu and you'll get a more accurate result. So stressful though when you're being told different things from different tests!

Thank you so much for the replies 😍 Yes the strip was this morning, then the digital one late afternoon… and yes I will definitely do more tomorrow but now just scared it’ll be another not pregnant! 😂

It took me a couple of days to show positive on a digital when I was showing positive on strip test. I am now 8 weeks pregnant. Good luck x

Did you retest today op?

I tested the day after. Pic attached. Midwife said its normal for lines to vary and nothing to worry about. Not doing anymore now! Im 8 weeks and exhausted. Actually feel asleep at my desk today🙈
