Hi everyone,

Due to have an elective caesarean in a few weeks and after any top tips for recovery? Had an emergency caesarean with my toddler and found recovery so so challenging so looking for any ways to make this time a bit easier. Thanks in advance!

I had an emergency under GS with my first and an elective for my second. I didn't want to miss it again!
I found that with my first it was a lot harder recover - more complications and I lost a lot of blood. It was much easier with DD. Make a stash box (I used a sauce tray like they have in pubs) that you can keep nearby with things you will need a lot. See if there can be anyone else to come and help you after DH finishes paternity - even for a few days.

I found recovery from my emergency c-section easier than my elective but then my emergency c-section baby was in the nicu for less than a quarter of the time my elective c-section baby was.

An easier way to pull you up in bed, I tied a dressing gown belt to a handle to help me in the morning when DP wasn’t there
