Seizures during pregnancy

If you have epilepsy, did you have seizures throughout your pregnancy?

I’m 12 weeks, and I’m so fed up already.

Had a couple of awareness seizures early on. Have upped medication twice. Have had 2 awareness seizures 2 evenings in a row.

I’m assuming it’s not actually going to get any better. Medication seems to work for a couple of weeks after upping it, and then back to square one.

I understand the reasons behind it like the amount of blood in system doubling etc, but I’m just fed up.

Did you have seizures throughout pregnancy?

I’ve got epilepsy and at the very beginning had an aura like I was about to have a seizure (which according to my epilepsy nurse still counts as a seizure!) and then nothing at all until I was 37 weeks and had three in a row. By sheer luck I was actually at an appointment in the hospital when they happened so they just kept me in and did a c section the next day.

Are you having regular blood tests to measure your levels? I think I ended up going for one every other week and did have my medication upped a fair bit
