Hi all,
I am wondering if someone is in the same situation as me. We went for a growth scan at 34+5 days. Dr says the baby’s head and abdomen are big and femoral length is short around 3rd percentile. Last 2 scans were normal. Dr did not saythe condition of the baby and that she will refer me to the OB consultant. I have been worrying about my baby.

Hi I had a similar experience with my child, they started showing smaller body measurements and a larger head from about 20 weeks. They were born early with diagnosis of IUGR (restricted growth). They were very small to start with but otherwise healthy. We had to stay in hospital after birth but now they are 4 and totally average-sized and healthy.
I was told that the larger head size is a good sign as it means your body is growing the important parts if there isnt enough space for the rest to be quite as big as it should.
Try not to worry, I am obviously not a doctor but I would have thought if your baby is only showing this tendency now then they are probably a quite ok size already? But it is good they have seen it so you will be ready if baby is a little lighter at the start. Even if they are smaller it really doesn't have to mean anything terrible, do not panic just yet :) if you want to message me feel free.
