Positive stories after coming off progesterone

Hi.

I know theres probably so many success stories about coming off progesterone suppositories but gosh my anxiety is through the roof.

Ive had 3 miscarriages at around 6 weeks and ive finally managed to get to 15 weeks with progesterone.

Im worried that if i come off progesterone at 16 weeks something will happen with baby and i'll miscarry again at a later gestation.

Does anyone have any advice about coming off it or any success stories around coming off progesterone after multiple miscarriages and everything has been fine with baby?

I have my midwife appointment when im 16+4 and i think i have enough to get me through to then, but is it worth asking the midwife if i can stay on them.
I have a love hate relationship with progesterone and ive always said i cant wait to be off the damn things, but now im like shit, i dont want to be off them!!

Any support or advice will be super helpful!

Thank you very much!

You don't need them after 15/16 weeks, your placenta is doing everything it needs to do. Many IVF pregnancies stop progesterone much much earlier.

Hi,

Currently 18 weeks after miscarriages at 5 weeks, 6 weeks and a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks.
This is my first pregnancy with progesterone and I stopped at 16 weeks.

Like you I was anxious but as said above my midwife said it has no use after 16 weeks and just stop it which I did. I queried whether I should reduce dosage etc in the first instance but again was told there is no need and at this stage it won't make any difference to the outcome of the pregnancy.

By all means obviously speak to your midwife but I think its highly unlikely they will let you stay on it for the duration. A definate positive is that I don't miss the mess 🙂

First pregnancy I tapered off at 15/16 weeks. Second pregnancy I was fed up with the faff and mess and just stopped around 14 weeks.

The mess is ridiculous! Like i feel like i need all new underwear after 16 weeks😅

I think I came off at 16 weeks and no issues, hopefully it all works out for you x

I weaned off around 16 weeks and am now 24 weeks.

I was really anxious about stopping and searched online (lots of similar questions on Reddit boards) for any bad outcomes associated with stopping progesterone. I didn't find a single one!

@LER2023 did you come off progesterone at 16 weeks? Was all ok? I'm in pretty much exact same position as you and 15 weeks now :)

I did come off at 16 weeks! All was good, im now 20 weeks and 4 days had my 20 week scan, im having a boy and hes growing really healthy and in proportion to his gestation!

I never weaned off progesterone. It got to 16 weeks and i cut it dead turkey.

All has been fine since and fingers crossed no problems have come up! X
