Hi all

Has anyone else experienced this? It happens to me a few times a week, my heart races so fast and makes me feel sick. Feels like it’s beating out my chest. Currently happening to me whilst sitting on the couch, it doesn’t have any pattern with physical activity.
I am just getting over 8 weeks of hellish morning sickness and thought I was in the clear, but this combined with indigestion/heartburn has thrown a spanner in the works.

Does anyone know how common this is? Not due to see the midwife for another couple of weeks yet so can’t ask.

I think palpitations are pretty common but I'd keep an eye on it

My heart was racing when my blood sugars were too high (I had gestational diabetes), any other symptoms?

High blood sugar for me was racing heart, light headedness and getting a bit sweaty. I used to have to go for a lie down after eating (before I was diagnosed!)

Not that I’m aware of. What are the other symptoms? This is my second pregnancy and has been assessed as low risk.

I was barely able to eat in those first 6 weeks, it was about week 11 before my appetite came back properly. I don’t eat overly sugary or processed foods but my diet has been very beige and convenient at the moment. I also have a bottle of full fat coke a day (500ml) as it settles nausea for me.

Could be your iron is too low that's how mine always started when I needed iron tablets in my pregnancies

@SB1712

Standard diabetes symptoms really. Increased thirst and urination.

Not directly at you but for anyone reading gestational diabetes isnt caused by eating sugary foods it's the placenta interfering with your insulin response.
