I had GD in my last pregnancy so they wanted to test me early this time, my plasma glucose fasting result is 4.3 is this good and I don’t have it?

Did they not discuss the result, or do you have to wait for an appt to discuss it?

MyPinkFish · 26/05/2025 17:21

That is a negative result, fasting should be less than 5.3 which yours is x

Your fasting result might be ok but it doesn't mean that you'll "pass" the blood test after the drink. You need both to see.

I just received my second result on the nhs app it’s 6.3 I’m guessing it’s negative as I remember my last was 8.4

I had my baby 6 weeks ago and I have already forgotten the GD results. I think it’s anything above 7.8 counts as GD. Mine was 4 before then 8.5 after 2hrs. I was 34 weeks at the time. So yours sounds negative.

You said test early though how early are you? Hopefully they test you again between 24-28 weeks as standard.

Disco2022 · 26/05/2025 20:53

Yeah they vary between areas sometimes. Mine is below 5.2 for fasting and below 7.2- 2 hours after the glucose drink, so you might be ok this time. Worth keeping an eye, I was fine until 33 weeks and now my blood sugar is crazy and I can't even look at a carb, wholemeal or not.

I’m only 8 weeks, yes they said they will restart around 23 weeks
