Morning sickness

Hi all,

I have an almost 6 year old and have just discovered I am pregnant again! Currently almost 5 weeks.

With my son I was very lucky and had absolutely no illness and didn’t even know I was pregnant with him for quite a while😳. I was lucky enough to have a very smooth and easy pregnancy.

Im obviously older now and aware it might not be as easy the second time round but my question is re morning sickness. Those of you who experienced sickness (or didn’t) the first time round - did you find it was different for your second pregnancy? And did you end up having a boy/girl? And what week did you find your nausea/sickness started?

thanks!

I have 2 girls and had sickness both times but it was way worse with my second. Sickness with my first was probably around 6-16 weeks, I was signed off work weeks 7-11 when it was at its worst. With my second it started at 5 weeks and didn’t stop until she was born (I was actually sick twice after she was born). I was signed off from 6 weeks to about 18 weeks and even then had to work from home for the majority of my pregnancy.
One sister has a boy and girl but didn’t have sickness with either.
My other sister has a boy and girl and had much worse sickness with her boy (first) than her girl.
In my experience it makes no odds with what number pregnancy or gender. I’d love to know what actually does make a difference though!
