Quick post...as I am in Devon and using free wifi from a cafe.

I have brown blood when I wipe. It started (very infrequently) yesterday and there has been a bit more today. I am six weeks this Thursday. I am still exhausted and feeling a bit nauseous.

I guess I just want some reassurance, really. I haven't craps or pains or anything, and only blood when I wipe. Is this something to worry about?

Sorry, I can't help as I've no experience of this happening - just bumping for you. Think you should go to the local EPU tomorrow though. Good luck.

Hi there, the brown blood is old blood something to do with implantation of the baby and because your not in pain its a good sign hope this helps xxx

llareggub · 20/05/2008 17:57

Thanks...it is difficult as I am on hols. Perhaps I should ring NHS Direct for information about hospitals in North Devon. Cheers all.

Hi there, not sure if you are still online. I had the same thing at 6 weeks and rushed off for an early scan (I had an m/c last year so was really paranoid...) Everything was fine and they told me it was probably implantation blood and nothing to worry about. All has been well since. I guess you should see if there is an EPU nearby and get an apt. Easier said than done bit try not to worry too much. Hope all is well, x

jennylindinha · 20/05/2008 18:09

meant to say "but" try not to worry - not bit!

llareggub · 21/05/2008 17:56

Thanks for your message. I now have red blood so not looking too good. We are going to cut short our holiday and go home so that I can book a scan. If this is a miscarriage it is the second one in two cycles

llareggub - hope it's not as bad as you fear. And hope you get a scan sorted as soon as possible.

llareggub · 21/05/2008 18:10

Thanks belgo. The lack of pain or cramps is positive, right?

OP posts:
belgo · 21/05/2008 18:13

Yes the lack of pain is good, and bleeding does not always signify a major problem, but as you know, it does need to be checked out.

llareggub · 21/05/2008 18:15

I will. Thanks, I've been desperate to get to mumnset all day. Thank heavens for free wifi on holidays.

Good luck llareggub, I hope you get some good news... Let us know.

belgo · 22/05/2008 12:17

yes llareggib, let as know how you are.

llareggub · 22/05/2008 17:06

HI folks. I managed to get a scan today instead of Friday and I'm a little stunned by the outcome. The sonographer could not see anything on the scan at all, so I can't be 6 weeks pregnant.

The sonographer asked how long my cycle is and of course, with my history of PCOS I have no idea but it is very irregular. She has suggested to me that I am actually much earlier than 6 weeks, possibly 4 weeks pregnant (if at all) and the bleed is indeed an implantation bleed. She has suggested that I go back for another scan in 2 weeks. There is nothing on the scan to confirm whether I am pregnant or not.

So....I still have a positive test....and there is nothing sinister to see on the scan. I still don't have any pain or anything like that so I think I will do a repeat HPT in the morning and see what it says. Thanks for your support.

jennylindinha · 22/05/2008 17:47

Wow, that is confusing! I hope that the sonographer is right and that you are just very early.

Fingers crossed!

llareggub · 22/05/2008 21:16

Hmmm.

I'm not so sure now. I've just done a test and it is negative. I am gutted. Two miscarriages in two cycles. It isn't fair.

I might try another test in the morning in the spirit of using early morning wee but I think i is unlikely. Arse. I feel JUST like I did when pregnant with DS.

jennylindinha · 23/05/2008 12:28

Oh llareggub I hope you are wrong. Did you do another test this morning? I know how bad it feels, had an m/c last June at 10 weeks. I've been totally paranoid with this pregnancy.

If the test was indeed negative, I am so, so sorry... Hope you are ok.

belgo · 23/05/2008 12:30

I'm sorry to hear thisllaregub, that doesn't really sound like good news, although there is still a bit of hope.

I'm wondering when you took the pregnancy test - how long was it after your first m/c?

llareggub · 23/05/2008 12:45

Thanks both for your support. It does mean a lot. My first mc was in mid March, and this new positive test was last Sunday.

The test this morning did not work as the pink line did not come up in the control panel. I'm not going to repeat the test however.

I don't feel so bad today. I drove past my neighbour's house earlier and was reminded that they lost their son at 6 months to a genetic disease. I guess it reminded me that I have so much to be thankful for, as I already have a clever and handsome 18 month old son. I'm going to concentrate on getting as healthy as possible over the next few months and then think about trying again. Maybe this is my body's way of telling me to get fit and lose some weight before having another pregnancy.

SOunds like a good plan. Good luck with the future llareggub. You have every reason to remain hopeful that you will have another successful pregnancy at some point.

jennylindinha · 23/05/2008 17:40

Yes, good luck with everything and it's good to hear that you are already thinking about the future. Best wishes...
