Dry eyes in 3rd trimester

Around 30 weeks along i developed dry eyes. Each day into the third trimester it got worse to the point I couldn't open my eyes. I had hoped that after giving birth my eyes would improve but I'm now 2 weeks postnatal and its the same. I am breastfeeding and aware this can cause it but was hoping if it was caused by high hormones in pregnancy it might subside. Has anyone had dry eyes during later stages of pregnancy and had any resolution after birth? Or if dry during breastfeeding did it improve at any point? And any good treatments? I've tried loads of eye drops and hot compresses. TIA

Have you tried hycosan intense or Extra ?
worth a Try

Unfortunately yes. Also went to optometrist and they gave other eye drops. Both really don't do anything. Also tried the night ointment.

How did you find the ointment ? Still no good ? You could try peep club eye wand

Do you have blocked Meibomian glands? They're along the eyelids and can cause cysts.
There's a treatment of hot compress and then squeezing along the eyelids to get oil out..
Also make sure you don't have blepharitis?

Went to optometrist again and confirmed the blocked Meibomian glands. The eye drops she originally gave me didn't do anything so has given me a prescription for some others. Not sure how much they'll differ. But did say the warm compress / massage treatment along side should help. She said give it a week ans see if there's an improvement. Really hope so as don't want to stop BF if that's not the problem.

What drops has the opticians prescribed

sodium hyaluronate .3%. At the moment they just feel like they dry out my eyes loads then maybe an hour later feels marginally better. Optometrist said give it at least a week but strange it doesn't have a moisturising feeling at the time. Also Hylo night ointment. Praying that I feel some improvement soon but so far nada 😫
Scared to stop breastfeeding in the hope that it gets better. I'd be so upset if I stopped and nothing changed.
