Hello! can anyone please advise on the below beta HCG levels? I am worried because the last one (5 week 4 days) did not double at the same speed of the other ones.. Has anyone experienced a slowing down of the doubling rate at 5 week and went on having a successful pregnancy? I had 3 miscarriages and feeling really worried at the moment.
May 7 151 (3 week 6 days)
May 9 527 (4 week 1 day)
May 12 2,421 (4 week 4 days)
May 15 7,846 (5 week)
May 19 21,846 (5 week 4 days)

My HCG didn't double after around 6,000 at 5 weeks. It went up by around 60%. I went on to have a successful pregnancy. Best of luck!

The rise does slow down once it gets above a certain level.

Your results look good. Is there a reason you are testing?

@Lyla82 thank you! that's what happening to me too. Hopefully it will go well for me too. Doctor advised to stop testing and have an early scan, so I am going tomorrow (6 week). Hopefully everything will look ok

@juju90 I am very familiar with HCG testing and early pregnancy anxiety because I had recurrent early miscarriages.

My doctor told me that once you can have a scan that's a much better way of telling how your pregnancy is going than testing your HCG levels.

Good luck for tomorrow.

@MissScarletInTheBallroom thank you! it's my first IVF transfer after many natural losses, and I am a little nervous. I will go for an early scan tomorrow and hopefully I will be able at least to see if the pregnancy is in the right place. I am only 6 week so I don't think there will be much to see, but any reassurance at the moment will do..

If it's IVF then you must know your exact dates and you can be sure you really are 6 weeks, in which case you have a good chance of seeing something.

With my last pregnancy I had scans at 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks. It's great if you see a heartbeat at 6 weeks and even better if you see one at 8 weeks because between 6 and 8 weeks the risk of miscarriage reduces a lot. 10 weeks is brilliant because that's when it starts to look recognisably human.

Good luck!

I really hope I will see something tomorrow! All my miscarriages were missed miscarriages but this embryo was PGT-A tested, so I really hope it's growing well. Currently ironing trying to distract myself from this (I NEVER iron 😂). Thank you again x
