Hi,

im 33+1 today, im pretty sure yesterday i lost some of my mucus plug (not 100% but pretty sure) there was no blood in it but today ive been to the toilet and had a couple of red spots of blood when ive wiped. Has this happened to anyone else? Could it be linked to the mucus plug yesterday? I’ve attached a pic below, it’s only a tiny amount and I’ve not had any since (a couple hours ago)

This happened to me at 33 + 1 and I was in early labour. Go and get checked out. It might be nothing but I didn’t go straight away and then they couldn’t stop it. DS is a healthy 6ft teenager now but I would rather not have had the premature birth…

This is a very personal question, but have you had sex in the last day or two? It can sometimes cause a little spotting as the cervix is engorged with blood. That said, it wouldn’t do any harm to give your midwife or the pregnancy unit a call for reaasurance.

@ShitaBrickthank you for sharing your experience, I’ve had a bit more of what I think looked like my mucus plug come away this morning. I rang my local L&D last night and they said they’re not concerned at the moment to call if anything progresses. @WTActualFi did have sex a couple of days ago so possibly that but not had it happen before and with the mucus plug too it just felt a little different, but I was assured by the midwife I spoke to on the phone so here’s hoping nothing more progresses and he cooks in there a little longer ☺️🤞🏽
