Hi everyone my 20week scan went well yday found out I'm.having a baby boy :) it's my first pregnancy and only thing of concern was my placenta atm is low she has booked me again at 32 week for another scan to check position? I am worrying trying not to. Anyone had experience of this? Did it eventually go up if not was it csection? Thanks xx

Ditto ditto! My second pregnancy though, having my second boy and first pregnancy I had anterior placenta but this one is low lying and rescanning at 32 weeks… I’ve heard and read most cases they move higher as the uterus grows so fingers crossed for us both. Wanted to join your thread so could see what other said and we can keep eachother updated! 🤞🏼 Congratulations by the way 🩵

Hi both! Normally they do move up. For me, it didn't move much and the babys blood vessels were too close to the cervix so I had a section at 37 weeks which went really smoothly!

I had this and then at the additional scan they found as my womb grew it stretched up and the placenta moved up and away from the danger zone. It’s quite common. Best of luck!

Hi all, I got the same news at my 20 week scan. I've read a lot around it and it seems they do move and when they don't, hospital's are generally proactive in ensuring you and baby are safe. It's worrying, but try and not focus on it too much. Hopefully things will resolve by your 32 week scan.

Yep first pregnancy it was low lying and was well out the way by 32 weeks. 9 out of 10 move.
everyone was very casual about it and I wasn’t advised to alter my lifestyle in anyway. I went on holiday at 22 and 30 weeks.

I also have a low lying placenta, 32 weeks scan on Thursday to find out if it’s moved! Crossing everything. Mine partially covers cervix so they are more risk adverse but for my nhs trust they advise against flying, sex, and strenuous exercise (they said no exercise apart from walking for me). They booked me in with consultant after 20 week scan to ask questions so maybe see if you can get this?

Hoping yours moves but at least they’ve identified and I’m sure you’ll be well looked after Smile

I think it's pretty common, I had to have growth scans and it had moved out the way but 28 weeks. Try not to worry
