Am I overreacting?

I have had two miscarriages in the past (both natural conception). I am currently pregnant again via ivf.

I told my mother not to tell anyone until we told her she can. We are waiting until the 12 week scan. My husband also hasn't told his family and is waiting until the 12 week scan.

I was 8 weeks when I found out my other told my aunty. My aunty is a blabber mouth and I am certain the rest of my family will know before I reach 12 weeks.

I told my mum that her actions upset me and she didnt respect our wishes. She basically told me to get over it. Stop stressing about a miscarriage and that she hasn't done anything wrong, not a single apology.

Now we aren't on speaking terms. Do you think I am overreacting?

I don't think you're overreacting at all. It's a very personal decision when to tell people, especially where you're nervous after past losses. You confided in her and she broke that trust. I would be very upset too, especially with the lack of empathy afterwards.

I'd be mad too. Just let her know she cant complain now when she's not informed straight away about anything else, she can find out when everyone else does!

I would be annoyed too. Her attitude after is even more upsetting.

Is your mum always so obnoxious and rude?
