Short femurs

My friend has just had a scan at 20 weeks. Two things are worrying. The first is that the baby’s femurs are a bit short. The second is that part of her placenta is fully functional.

Does anyone know what either of these things could mean for her baby?

For the femur, did they give you a percentile? Eg, did they say they're on the 5th, 10th etc percentile? And how did it compare with the other measurements (head etc),?

No measurements as yet. She’s due another scan. Her placenta has a section that’s not functioning.

Is your friend short/petite herself?

Sometimes measurements on these scans cause more stress than anything..

At my 20 week scan they said my son's femurs were on the 9th centile, and that the rest of him was on the 10th centile so they had me in for fortnightly growth scans.
Naturally this was alarming, as I wondered if he was gonna come out small with short legs.
He came out just shy of 9lbs and is actually an extremely 'long' baby with feet bursting out of his onesies.
All I mean to say is that the scans are not always 100% accurate so try not to worry too much. They're likely being overly cautious
