Hello,

I just had my hcg blood test done at 4 weeks exactly. The results came back and I am a little confused. The results said abnormal but it’s on the end of the range.
My test came back as 81 iu/L. Everywhere I search it is measured differently.

can someone please help me understand it, is this fine for 14 dpo?

thank you!

"Healthy, non-pregnant women have serum hCG levels < 5 IU/L. Serum hCG values > 25 IU/L indicate pregnancy. Levels between 5 and 25 IU/L often indicate early pregnancy, but results need to be interpreted cautiously because false positive results can occur in this range."

The best advice would be from your doctor. If you are pregnant and have anxiety about the progression, I would suggest you ask for follow up blood tests to ensure it is rising. 4 weeks is still very early to be able to tell if it's going to be a successful pregnancy especially with just one blood result.
