Ectopic - Expectant Management

Hi all

I’ve been diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy and the Drs have recommended expectant management for the time being (although my levels seem quite high - over 700).

Just wondering if anyone has any experience in this? Not sure if the better option would be just to get the injection/have surgery sooner rather than later.

Any replies would be massively appreciated

Hi, sorry you are going through this it is such a worrying time. Unfortunately I have had 3 ectopic pregnancies and the first one I had was expected management and did go on its own, however my HCG was dropping and a lot lower than that! Are they doing regular blood tests to monitor you?… the second ectopic I had, my left tube ruptured but my HCG was around 3000 (obviously every body is different and HCG doesn’t determine if tube will rupture). If you are having a lot of anxiety about waiting/ the possibility of a tube rupture I would say get the injection. I had the injection (3rd ectopic) and had an ok experience ( as ok as it can be under the circumstances).

Hope you can take some time off work and look after yourself x
