Do you think it is a cleft lip?

Hello everyone. Can you tell me is this a cleft lip? The image is from 18 week scan?

My son was born with a cleft lip, the person doing the scan would have known if this was or not? It was very obvious on my scan and could tell right away. Do you have a 2D scan as well as it was more clear in that

The scan was private, and they did not tell me anything. I have 2D photo but I do not think the image is good enough.

I doubt many on here would have the qualifications to even hazard a guess, I’m afraid. Maybe ask the question at your anomaly scan, the sonographer there is best placed to help.

If the sonographer was experienced I’m almost certain they would have known and told you. It’s one of the main things they look for. My 2D scan was face on and looked very obvious.
will you have the routine 20 week scan with your maternity unit? They will know for sure then and check everything else too, hopefully put your mind at rest. But if it is a cleft honestly don’t worry and feel free to message any questions.

The scanner would have said. As a non-sonographer you can’t tell anything from those 4D things, they all look like they’re made of wax and have melted. DD2’s was genuinely terrifying.

Yes, I had my 20 weeks anomaly scan today. Everything was normal but they could not get good images of the heart and the lips because of baby position. We have to rescan after 2 weeks.

So you think it does not look like cleft lip?
