Anyone had PAPP A of 1.68 or higher?

I’ve just gotten my PAPP-A results and stupidly googled and saw that elevated PAPP-A can be an early indicator of placenta accreta.

Ive had 3 previous sections and scared myself silly.

Has anyone had elevated PAPP-A and it not been this?

Hi CareBear, I don’t have an answer for you but just to say I got my results back recently at 1.81 and hadn’t heard of placenta accrete before now! It’s not something my midwife highlighted to me and they were generally pleased with my results. However, a private scan last week showed I have a low lying anterior placenta (I’m also 39) so I’m really glad you asked this question as I’ll be mentioning it at my 20 week scan next week. Just when you think you’ve crossed one hurdle and had some good news, you discover something else! It’s not easy, is it? 🙈 fingers crossed for the both of us! ❤️

@Sleepypixxie my placenta was anterior low lying with my second pregnancy and by 30 weeks it had moved up.

Fingers crossed it’s the same for you

Hi my papp-a was 1.73. I'm 23 weeks now with anterior placenta and they said at 20 week scan placenta is fine and high, no issues. Hope this gives you a little reassurance x

@Gfh123 thank you! This is what I needed to hear.

Obviously if I do turn out to have a problem then I’ll deal with it and my consultant is amazing thankfully but it’s really reassuring to know someone also had PAPP-A over one and this wasn’t the case. It was so difficult to find information about it other than a few studies

Hi OP mine was 1.23 2nd baby. Following emergency c section. Absolutely fine, smaller than my first baby but healthy happy 2 year old now 💕

Yeh I had similar worry. Did also read it's more common in girl pregnancies and that turned out to be right :) Everything came back low risk despite being over 35 and midwife just said it was nothing to worry about. Hope everything goes smoothly for you x

@Gfh123 that’s interesting! Mine was 0.5 something in my last pregnancy which was a boy. Not sure what it was in my first two pregnancies. Be interesting to see.

Definitely feeling much better now I know it’s not actually rare
