Pre-labour pains at 35 weeks - has anyone else had these?

Hello. Am 35 weeks pregnant and suffering from what I can only assume are "pre-labour" pains. Apparently baby is engaged (which I thought was unusual for a 2nd pregnancy) and and feeling a lot of pressure down below and period like cramps. Have back-ache too.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Any words of wisdom?

Thank you.

are you sure its not Labour? or could it be Braxton Hicks?

Could it be bowel pains? Baby will be pressing on all sorts and it could well be aggravating your lower bowel.

You sure it isn't labour?

I had pains that started off like that at 30 weeks, and then went into full on labout and had DS prematurely.

Hop it gets better.

No, don't think it is labour. Rang the midwife last night who said it is probably just the baby pressing down on bowels etc. Pains much better this morning but still have the pressure.

See the midwife tomorrow so may know more.

Thank you.

Pls do report back - I'm 32 weeks with similar sensations - not waves of pain but 'just there'....

Well, still the same this afternoon. Seeing the midwife tomorrow so should know more then. Will keep you posted.

I saw my MW today with same symptoms - back and lower pelvis discomfort, loose bowels, period cramps. I've started to feel these since week 35. I'm 38 weeks - baby is descending down into the pelvis and it's all normal. She said she expected all symptoms to et worse in 39th (next) week but doesn't mean early labour. Let us know what your MW said... obviously it will be different for all.

Hi Orissiah,
Saw the MW today - basically said the same as yours although she says she suspects I will deliver earlier rather than later.
Keep me posted as to what happens.

i am also having these pains and am only 33 weeks, there not there all the time, but certainly feel like period pains, and also feel quite heavy down below. I just think what will be will be, and the baby will come when good and ready, keep us posted as to whether your baby does make an appearance.
