Is there anyone here that got pregnant after being sterilised?

I was sterilised 3.7 years ago. Just realised (well at the weekend) that i am 17 days late for period!

Have been 2 weeks late only once before so slightly odd for this to happen!

Will get a test if nothing happening by Wednesday.

Just wondered if this has happened to anyone else?

Not me, I'm just being nosy but I just looked it up and although it is more than 99% effective there is a small risk of pregnancy. If you think you might be pregnant you need to get to your GP asap as there is a risk of ectopic pregnancy (so I'd test now if I were you). There MUST be other mothers on here who've been in the same situation as you... Good luck

If you are pregnant you need a scan right away.

Don't be fobbed off.

Because as petit pointed out, an ectopic pregnancy is more likely in women who fall pregnant after sterilisation.

I know someone who had her 5th child after being sterilised.

my SIL was sterilised 9 years ago and ended up pg last year but it ended in ectopic. I would get checked out asap

yes-i was warned about this before having the op. I will get a test tomorrow if period hasn't arrived. I always come on early in the mornings.

I always seem to concieve very late in my cycle (25/28 last time!) so that is why i didn't test this weekend as it might not be a reliable result!
