Bad cramping 15 weeks. What do I do?

I'm 15+2 with my third baby. Have been getting cramping on and off right since the start, but since yesterday morning it's been worse than before. Feels like pressure too like I need bowel movement (but I'm not constipated and haven't been). It's not a UTI cause I've had them before in pregnancy and doesn't feel like that at all. It's like bad period pains with pressure.

Changing position etc, resting, not helping.

Tbh I'm really scared it's the start of a late miscarriage or cervix opening or something. Need a handhold, feel so alone SadSadSad. My older children are at work or out and partner doesn't seem to care, since it's his one day off work and is out with our teenage son.

Don't know what to do for the best. Was trying to ignore it hoping it was mild like the previous cramping I've had but I think it's worse. Have booked a private cervix length scan for tomorrow 11am. Looked at the maternity numbers I've been given and it's only a 24 hour service for 16+ weeks, below that and it's Mon-Fri 9-5. Would 111 out of hours be able to do anything? (I'm in Scotland), or should I phone the 16+ weeks line and ask for advice?

Do you have maternity notes? Is there a number on there you could call for some reassurance/ advice? I’ve been pretty crampy throughout this pregnancy, it’s my third too, but I think it’s more bowels for me as I’ve felt like I’ve been more sensitive to certain foods.
Have you tried to have your bowels open?
Sending you a hand hold

Most early pregnancy units are up until 16w. Can you try them? Do you have a triage or emergency number? I’d call any and let them advise you best person to speak to, hopefully you can get a scan tomorrow. Hope all is ok x

@ThePerkyEagle Yeah I have my notes, but it says on them that the 24 hours phone line is for 16+ weeks and for under 16 weeks that number is only staffed Mon-Fri 9-5.
Bowels have been opening as normal. I thought that might help, but afterwards, the pain isn't any better. Thanks for handhold xxx

@Xwx1010 Yeah that's the problem, the Early Pregnancy Unit here is only staffed Mon-Fri 9-5. It's only 16 weeks+ that is a 24hr service. I presume outside of that, it's A&E, but I don't know/doubt if they'd be able to do anything tonight?

@Laidir87 id still call, you’re only a few days short, see what they advise.

ThePerkyEagle · 11/05/2025 19:53

Definitely still call, if it’s the same as my hospital then they’d rather hear from you if you’re worried than not.
I hope you get some reassurance soon.

Hi OP. It's been a while since this thread but I am having the same bad cramps at 15 weeks. Was everything okay for you?
