Sterilisers… recommendations?

I’ve fallen into a bit of a rabbit hole when it comes to sterilising bottles.

Firstly, I was planning on using MAM bottles as they are so highly recommended. However, I have been reading about microplastics and now I’m not too sure whether to go down the glass bottle route.

I was also looking at a UV steriliser but that isn’t recommended by the NHS. I don’t like the thought of using bleach with Milton, and I read that steaming can damage bottles.

What does everyone else do? Feeling a bit stuck and overwhelmed with almost 7 weeks to go!

Used to steam-sterilise in the microwave.

used Milton with baby one and will do the same with baby 2, the nhs use the Milton one in nicu’s so that was good enough for me!

I was in hospital when I started using formula. They used Milton's tablets in cold water tubs. It worked well so I continued with this when we got home. Minimal fuss

Milton tablets or liquid in cold water bucket. Used successfully for years both at home and in hospital.
Great for travel too

@ecossegirl91 @Superscientist @CCLCECSC thank you for your replies! Do you find it leaves any residue? Just a bit anxious about using diluted bleach if you know what I mean.
Probably worrying over nothing but it’s my first, after trying for 6 years and having several miscarriages before getting here.

It has a smell to it which you soon get used too and baby never minded. It’s great for travel too and if it does leave a taste on the teats they are already used to it. Understand first time parent anxiety but it’s totally safe 😁 and relatively inexpensive

I used Milton cold water with both of mine. I also used the MAM plastic bottles with my youngest & steamed in the microwave. I still occasionally bung their school drinks bottles in a bucket of Milton
