Hi all,
I had my 20 week scan yesterday. Baby is growing and developing beautifully, no issues.
However, the following was spotted on the scan:
I have a subchorionic heamatoma, measuring 12cm in length and 4cm in width. The heamatoma is lying on the edge of my placenta. I've been told that this has now increased my chance of a miscarriage and or it can stunt baby's growth or end up in a premature birth. Alternatively, it can do nothing and will hopefully resolve itself.
I also have a low lying placenta which if it doesn't move, will result in a c-section.
Does anyone have any experience with the above please?
If it makes a difference, I'm 44 and the pregnancy has otherwise been problem free and I have a long history of miscarriages, 9 in the last 3 years alone. I'm 21 weeks pregnant and having a little wobble.
The hospital will monitor me more, I have another scan in 2 weeks and an open admission to my Pregnancy Assessment Unit.
