Have had a catheter fitted to let my bladder return to normal. Feeling fed up. Apparently it's something which can just happen when you're pregnant. Never heard of this happening to anyone so just wanted to see if anybody else has experienced this and can reassure me.

Yes, me! I also had a catheter. Constant full bladder and had to lean forwards to let out a few drops at a time, it was really uncomfortable. Hope you’re okay - it may be worth buying a stool to put your feet on when on the loo.

Btw - it can be a symptom of an impacted uterus, so please get that checked out

Unusual but but unexpected.
. If you have a retroverted uterus then your bladder gets stuck. Once it is out of the pelvis (about 20 weeks), you should be fine.

This happened to my sister twice. Once when pregnant first time and once when pregnant forth time. It was fine for middle 2 pregnancies. She had to have a catheter and a bag attached to her leg and after her first catheter she then got a urine infection too. Both times it lasted about a month then she could wee again.

This is what I was told when it happened to me in my second pregnancy. Had to go in to have my bladder drained twice before 20 weeks. No problem after that point.

Thanks so much for your responses and suggestions. Sorry to hear other people have also experienced this but it's reassuring to know that it'll probably sort itself out in a few weeks. Oh the joys of pregnancy! 🙄I'll never take weeing for granted again.

It might be incarcerated uterus, so ask about that.

I'm 15 weeks and scared of this happening to me cause I have a retroverted uterus.
