I started testing positive just a few days ago. Why is my positive line so strong?

2 weeks ago I still got negative tests, now the positive line is so strong, why is that? High levels of HCG?

How many dpo are you?

lnks · 08/05/2025 18:19

Mine was really strong like that, just a single baby though.

My periods are very irregular and my cycles are like 37-45 days. But according to Flo my ovulation date last month was April 12th. I still tested negative from 21st-30th April though

It mainly depends on how many days past ovulation you are. Testing negative last week is irrelevant. If you were 11dpo last week and now you’re 18dpo its very likely you’ll get a strong line now. HCG doubles (or more) every 24-48 hours or so. So if for example you got your first positive test Sunday when your HCG was say 12miu, by now it could be 50+.

Your husband being a twin also makes no difference as twins cannot run down the male lineage. Only the female lineage or just pot luck.

2 weeks is actually a pretty big difference for pregnancy testing so I wouldn't worry 💕
