Faint lines and a negative?

Hello! Been trying for a second baby and my cycle has been very unusual since coming off the pill again - currently 40+ days and each cycles gets a bit longer by a day or 2. Current on day 44 (was expecting my period today) and have had three faint line tests on the extra early clear blue in the last 24 hours. They’re definitely not evap lines as they appeared immediately. I then did a clear blue that would say the words ‘pregnant’ for reassurance and it said not pregnant! Am at a bit of a loss and don’t know what’s going on. Anyone had similar? Or any suggestions? Pics attached for reference

Classic evaporation line on these tests unfortunately. They’re so convincing! Have you tried a pink dye test?

Are you sure? They appeared straight away well within the 3 mins! No are they better?

The sensitivity level on the digital ones is much higher, so If those are actually faint positives and not evaps, a digital would likely still say not pregnant as the levels aren't high enough for a digital. Blue ones are notorious for evaps so I would try a pink test if I were you! Fingers crossed you get the results you're hoping for!

SErunner · 08/05/2025 15:29

I don’t think those are positives either unfortunately.

Olika · 08/05/2025 15:32

Evaps can appear right away. Evaps are thin lines whereas positives are wide lines In lots of tests I have seen. Give it a few more days and try again. I can see shadows of lines but whether they turn to actual lines and positive test is to be seen, good luck!

This was my test and im now currently 12 weeks and 4 days.
I definitely see the blue lines. Try a pink dye test and see how you get on.

Good luck!

Thank you all! I’ve looked at the packets and the ones that have the faint line are definitely more sensitive that the digital one so I’ll try again in a few days and see! The lines looked wide when I looked at them but you never know if you’re just seeing what you want to see! Much easier with my first baby as the initial test was digital and I have a very regular cycle! So strange with the heaps though as imagine my bad luck if I’ve had three in a row! I had a multipack of 6 and used the other tests on previous cycles which didn’t have evaps so maybe it’s just bad luck or a bad batch!

These look positive to me. Especially if they appeared right away. They are thick lines and in the middle. Evaps are thin and off centre. You appear to be very very early however. Give it at least 48 hours before testing again as thats how long it takes for HCG to double. Good luck!

Ketryne · 08/05/2025 17:19

I would say these are positive. My first positive was fainter than this on the same test. I sent DH a photo and he thought I was imagining things. You’re probably just very early. I had evaporation lines too on tests I left in the bathroom and they didn’t look like this at all. They were strong on one side but very thin.

That’s a good start! The bottom one does look quite thin but it’s hard to tell in the photo! Fingers crossed for you!

Spotting turned to bleeding yesterday and a negative this morning. Think it may have been a chemical
