Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if anyone has had the same experience as me and can give me some hope 😅 I’m on day 4 of what I think must be Norovirus - my son (just turned 2) went through it last week and had the full works; sickness/vomiting, diarrhoea and a fever.

I’ve so far had vomiting for 24 hours 2.5 days ago, and awful stomach pain since. I haven’t eaten in 3 days. I haven’t had any diarrhoea. I’m worried about a couple of things - firstly I’m pregnant and the baby is definitely moving less. I guess he’s feeling as awful as I am. And secondly this has been going on 3 days with absolutely no sign of improvement at all (last night was actually the worst stomach pain of all the nights so far). I haven’t felt hungry and everything I’m eating I feel like I’m forcing in for the sake of nourishing the baby (and it feels like my body is rejecting it later). I’m worried that I’ve not even got to the diarrhoea phase yet and that will take another few days of pain!

Can anyone give me any hope that this will in fact go away in the next couple of days - has anyone had anything similar which miraculously improved on day 3 or 4?

We are on holiday and so far I’ve seen nothing but the inside of my in laws house 😭

Thank you xxx

Call your midwife for advice. Hope you feel better soon.

Are you drinking fluids? And keeping them down? I think you should get checked out by a midwife.

Only answer is to get checked out in hospital as baby's movements are reduced, you attend immediately in that case

I had this in my second pregnancy. It was awful. I was intent on staying at home but my husband was so worried he took me into the hospital where they admitted me and put me on an IV for fluids and antibiotics straight away. Don’t leave it too long x

You poor thing. I had D&V at 20 weeks and was sent to hospital for fluids because the baby was apparently dehydrated. It set off contractions every 2 hours throughout the night which were really strong and scared me, hence calling midwife and being told to go to hospital.

The contractions stopped once the bug went but it's definitely worth getting checked over.

Thank you all! It seems the NHS won’t deal with me at all because I’m abroad so I may have to go private if it doesn’t improve quickly. I’m keeping liquids down and food now but it causes lots of pain if I eat even the blandest and smallest of foods!
