Private Delivery at Kings

Anyone given birth recently at Kings' Private Wing? Looking into this as the best of both worlds - more amenities and support but also attached to a public hospital for emergencies. Don't have much experience with private deliveries so no idea what is a good baseline to judge.

Not at this hospital, but a friend of mine recently gave birth at a private hospital, unfortunately things didn’t go of plan and she & the baby were blue lighted to an nhs hospital … the facilities aren’t there in an emergency and that would put me off but you state it’s attached to a NHS one so that’s a win and can’t see a negative , I would assume that the care and attention during labour is much better though , plus the staff ratio .

Yes exactly - I wouldn't consider fully private for emergencies.

I gave birth at Kings on the NHS and had a great experience. The midwife-led birthing unit was fabulous.

The maternity ward post partum was the only bit I didn’t like. Noisy and boiling hot. Not sure I’d have paid £10k or whatever just to improve that short-lived experience though.
