I have had lots of pregnancy’s and seen lots of pregnancy tests in my time (several ending in miscarriage) and to me I think this line looks dark enough for the first day of your missed period. Congratulations!

If you are worried take a weeks indicator one and check that the date goes up each week as it should.

Also please remember that if it does end in a chemical pregnancy or anything else you weren’t hoping for, then it couldn’t have been helped. You didn’t do anything wrong it’s just nature taking its course.

It’s such a worry isn’t it. I know it’s easier said than done but the only thing you can do is wait and watch the line getting darker. I do think that line looks like a good colour for your first test and really hope it works out. Sending love and prayers your way as I know all too well how much it consumes you, waiting and watching the little tests. Xx

This was my test at 18dpo and it wasn't a chemical so I think yours looks good! Wishing you all the best with it, it's such a stressful time.

You're welcome, I remember searching the same things! My first test was 16dpo and was fairly unconvincing on a clear blue so I ordered the frer. My ovulation dates are definite as confirmed by a scan. I am currently 11 weeks so waiting for the 12 week scan confirmation but everything looked okay at an 8 week scan 🤞

If it’s helps my daughter is now 5 and this was her tests. First one is day of missed period and second pic is 10 days later. Your line is much darker than hers was and shes a healthy happy little 5yr old now. Good luck 🍀

With my second my tests were incredibly faint, barely even noticeable. They didn’t change at all, didn’t get any darker or more solid a line. It’s a really worrying time and you expect to see a dark solid line to confirm pregnancy but my midwife reassured me that a positive test no matter how faint or dark is still a positive test and nothing can guarantee what happens.

My faint line test is now a 1 year old!

@Frances567 Thank you so much and congratulations 🎊

You have comforted me so much. What gave you comfort with your test?

I took another test a few days later and it was significantly darker which reassured me, but otherwise it was just a case of waiting and trying to distract myself! It's my first pregnancy so I had nothing to compare to.

Also... congratulations! You're pregnant today and no matter what happens you can smile about that.
