Earliest symptoms were unfortunately very much the same as AF - tiredness, sore boobs, general bleurgh feeling which is probably not the answer you were looking for Im sorry. Were so similar this time round that I comiserated what I thought was the start of my af with a big glass of wine or two...instead it turned out to be implantation spotting!

I remember first time round looking at my boobs and thinking they looked very veiny.

Bigger symptoms often dont kick in until later although I did start being sick very soon after though - however i do suffer with hyperemesis so probably not something you want!

Good luck!

Thankyouandgoodnight · 18/05/2008 22:00

A week before AF was due.....

Muddled brain - unable to form proper sentences
Bowels slowed down
Jeans became very tight on legs and bum - bloating

whomovedmychocolate · 18/05/2008 22:10

Bleeding on day 24 of cycle.

Nope that's it. Then a pos test and 12 weeks of nausea starting a week later!

CarGirl · 18/05/2008 22:12

Before my period was due I just felt dreadful and that I couldn't cope with my dc and was wondering why on earth we were trying for another........

puffylovett · 18/05/2008 22:14

veiny boobs and big nips almost immediately after conception. oh and that same week, my sense of smell went off the charts and i couldn't bare to be anywhere near BO.

mrslurkalot · 18/05/2008 22:20

In both pregnancies, within days of conceiving (under 10) I had significant bloating, suddenly needed to rush to the loo for a wee, boobs really hurt (especially with DS - couldn't bear to take my bra off) and just a general feeling of I KNOW i'm pregnant. I was right both times and it took 2 years to get pregnant the first time and 2 months the second!

star6 · 26/05/2008 18:57

Ance breakout on my forehead. I actually thought it was a rash of some sort! And I had two spots on my back (NEVER get spots anywhere... not even as a teenager!) I had no idea at the time, but once I had the positive pregnancy test, I thought back and the breakout happened the day after I must have conceieved (and then again about 2 weeks later). All gone now, thank goodness!

SylvieBruno · 26/05/2008 18:58

Heartburn and a bit of lower back pain about 3 days before my period was even DUE.

Both times. same symptoms. So the 2nd time I knew.

gillythekid · 26/05/2008 20:42

I was pottering round my house one afternoon and realised I could smell every bit of food cooking in my road, even with the windows shut. This was way before the nausea kicked in!!

Cammelia · 26/05/2008 20:51

On both occasions the day after conception. I felt different. My upper arms smelled different to myself. My eyes were sparkly.

Jane7 · 27/05/2008 14:23

Nothing. I felt totally normal just very hungry until I was about 6 weeks pregnant and then I began to feel naseous.

NoNickname · 27/05/2008 14:26

Heartburn and an inability to eat my normal-sized evening meal without feeling full and nauseous at 10 and 11 days post ovulation.

slinkiemalinki · 27/05/2008 14:56

About 9 days DPO (so 3w+2) cramping after sex and tiredness.

stripeywoollenhat · 27/05/2008 14:59

total exhaustion from about a week before my period was due - i thought i had some sort of a virus. and absolutely mental moodiness, really weepy the day before my period was due - i thought it was just terrible pmt, but obviously not....

largeginandtonic · 27/05/2008 15:01

This time i just knew about 12 days post conception. Went off food, could smell everything like some maniacal blood hound. The nausea is crippling.

I have been pregnant 5 times before but never have i had symptoms so quickly!

Aubergenie · 28/05/2008 09:34

3 days after I ovulated I was woken up by really bad shooting pains in my groin and side. I was charting at the time and marked it on my chart as it was so strange. Second time round I had similar shooting pains going up my lower back about a week after ovulation. It's the only time I've ever experienced anything like that.

star6 · 28/05/2008 09:48

Oh yes and utter exhaustion! No sore boobs or nausea for a while... but very tired after loads of sleep. more tired than usual. AND very, very light brown coloured spotting 2 days before period was due.

Holly29 · 28/05/2008 10:15

My only symptom was crippling tiredness/emotionalness. I had to cancel a trip to the ballet with a friend because I was so convinced that I would cry all the way through... Thought I was going mad, until I found out I was pg!

Becky77 · 28/05/2008 10:34

from about 10 DPO: Increased sense of smell... Cramping that I wouldn't normally get without a bleed during AF... veins more visible in boobs.

Later the nausea, exhaustion and the extremely sensitive nipples.

Pidge · 28/05/2008 10:41

Absolutely unmistakable taste in mouth about 5-6 days before my period was due. In my first pregnancy I didn't notice it till later (probably just didn't know what I was looking for), but second and third time I almost felt I didn't need a pregnancy test! In fact I did two negatives second time round, before I finally got a positive, 6 days after 'the taste' had told me what was going on anyway. It was there 24 hours a day and I only ever have had this when pregnant. It lasts throughout pregnancy, and means that tea, wine and various other things taste disgusting even when the actual throwing up phase is over.

For me the other symptoms - tiredness, nausea etc don't start till about week 5.

kookiegoddess · 28/05/2008 14:02

3 days before my period was due, I had a funny taste in my mouth - we were in paris on hols so I thought it was just the french water - then I was very irrationally grumpy the next day, and the day after that I put 2 and 2 together and guessed I was pregnant. Then waited till I was a couple of days "late" and did the test and got my BFP.

Pinkjenny · 28/05/2008 14:06

Very sore and large boobs, they hurt when I was walking down the stairs, almost straight away.

jennylindinha · 29/05/2008 14:53

Yep, swollen and sore boobs way before my period was due. And then nothing else until week 6 when the nausea and tiredness hit big time...

Cammelia - I love your sparkly eyes! Think DP and I both had sparkly eyes after the conception - even though we had no idea I would be pregnant

PinkJenny - I am blaming you for this but when I was in M&S buying a sandwich for lunch I just had to buy a big bad bag of mint crumbles! My teeth feel terrible now but I just can't stop eating them...!

notcitrus · 31/05/2008 13:42

Bloody knackered. Had to take 6 days off work with a cold, which is unheard of for me, so I went to the GP who did all the routine tests. Got a letter the next week saying "You are definitely pregnant" - turned out to be 14 weeks!

In retrospect, apart from spending 2 months sleeping in every spare moment which I just thought was being run down after 6 months of working 14-hour days, I got dry skin on my face, and went from loving saunas to being too hot and getting out after 5 minutes - this would have been week 10 or so.

If I hadn't gone to the doc, I'd probably have clocked in week 16 when my breasts started to feel like they were falling off. I'd had a negative preg test at what must have been week 5, and after 3 years of thinking I was pregnant and then not being, I'd vowed not to test more than every 3 months.

LenniEd · 31/05/2008 15:05

Nothing at all this time (am currently 8wks pg) until about 5/6wks pg. 1st time around really sore boobs - hot and tingly practically from conception. Not a pleasant feeling.

Nausea and tiredness from week 6ish in both pregnancies. Horrible taste from about week 7 in this pregnancy - not in 1st one. Have to keep cleaning my teeth and eating mints to get rid of it.

I used to believe you 'could tell' before pg test after my 1st pg, but realised this time thats not always the case. Was still testing 2 weeks after my BFP to make sure as had no symptoms at all at first this time. Making up for it now.
