Aspirin in pregnancy

I’ve been taking 2 aspirin a day as prescribed by my midwife and I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant. I was told to stop taking at at 36 weeks, I know this sounds a bit dim but when do I stop? Do I take my last tablets at 35+6, 36 weeks on the dot or do I take the tablets for the duration of the 36th week and stop at 36+6. I know a few days won’t make that much difference but am interested to know.

I think you’re splitting hairs between 35w6d and 36w but I had to take progesterone until 13 weeks and that was stopped at 12w6d. I don’t know if that’s a convention but either way, you will be fine with either day :)

I don’t think it matters, you could be pregnant for another 2 weeks or another 6 weeks at this point so there’s no exact right date. From what I remember they ideally want at least 2 weeks between aspirin and delivery and that’s why you’re supposed to stop at 36 weeks.

It doesn't make a huge difference so don't get too worried. But 36+0 is the usual advice. When you say "the duration of the 36th week" that's what you're in now, 35 weeks is 35 completed weeks so you're in the 36th week now, finish out this week and you'll be all good 😊

For me they said asprin until 37 weeks, consultant said specific date that was 37+0. I stopped at 36+5.

Had my baby at 39+0.

I was taking it due to previous preeclampsia, didn’t have it this time.

I've been told to stop at 36+6, having specifically asked this qn. Also for previous preeclampsia. C section booked in 38+5

Oh I was told to take it right up until the night before my c section.

I stopped a day before 36 weeks but it won’t cause any harm a few days after either
