Not sure if this is a silly question or not but I’m trying to do things right so this pregnancy works out.
im taking pregnacare but just wondering if too much folic acid is a thing. I’m concerned that I’ll be getting it from food as well and therefore taking vitamins will take me over the recommendation.

You'll be fine taking the vitamins and eating normally 👍

That will be fine. In my last pregnancy I was given an enormous dose of folic acid due to previous abnormalities in a pregnancy.

No that's fine. The 400mcg recommendation is made in the knowledge that we all get extra from food anyway. It's not a concern. Some women are prescribed 5mg so like 12 times the standard dose.
