Is it possible to achieve a natural pregnancy at 39? Me and partner have older children and a miscarriage & would like another if possible without intervention any success stories to bring some hope to the table

A friend of my parents had an unexpected baby at 47- just presumed it was menopause.

I conceived DD2 naturally at almost 39 in the first month of trying

Christwosheds · 03/05/2025 15:02

Yes of course it is. I got pregnant naturally and very quickly at 40 and 42. Four of my good friends also got pregnant naturally then. Another less close friend had her first naturally at 45/46.

TeaIsNice · 03/05/2025 15:15

I gave birth at 38.5 :-)

MonsterBookOfTyson · 03/05/2025 15:16

I just conceived naturally at 39. Second cycle. Have 3 dc, 1 mc and 1 cp. It is definitely doable.

MidnightPatrol · 03/05/2025 15:23

Of course it is, utterly normal age to have a pregnancy in this day and age!

Bramblecrumb · 03/05/2025 15:43

V normal age in London. I'm the youngest in my NCT group at 33, most are 37+

PurpleTurtleMoose · 03/05/2025 15:51

Very possible indeed. I know lots of people having kids late 30s to 40s. I'm pregnant naturally, approaching 38. Husband is even older

malimoon · 03/05/2025 16:06

I had my first baby last year a week before my 39th birthday

My friend had twins at 40.

My granny had 4 kids after 40.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 03/05/2025 17:24

All the women in my family had babies in their 40s. All naturally conceived at 42, 43 44 and 48.

Marilla1966 · 03/05/2025 17:34

Had my first at 39. Took 4 months to conceive. Had my second at 41. I conceived her at the first attempt. X

Yep, all naturally conceived healthy singleton pregnancies. I was 39, 40, 43 and 46. Exhausting, but I feel very blessed

Still discussing this with my partner. Maybe one more! But also very happy with my lovely little guy so if it's just him I'm not going to be sad about it

BC2603 · 03/05/2025 21:11

Yep. Had my LB at 38.5 ❤️

TheGirlInTheGreenDress · 03/05/2025 21:34

Yes. Started trying aged 40 and got pregnant on third month.

minnienono · 03/05/2025 21:36

It’s possible at 50! Just unusual

shoofly · 03/05/2025 21:38

Yes, Ds2 was born a month before my 40th birthday.

Blueplu · 04/05/2025 16:44

hey,
I’ve got stage 4 endometriosis but fell pregnant at 40 first time …actually I had sex once and wasn’t even trying but had come of the pill a few weeks prior and then again the second time it took the second cycle to fall pregnant ( had miscarriages not due to age).
pregnant now with baby girl 💓 and will give birth at 42 this August.

I thought I’d never conceive so easily because of my endo and age but it turns out I fall pregnant easily unfortunately an immune disorder meant I couldn’t keep my pregnancies without meds x

TheGreenCrab · 04/05/2025 17:45

I am 42 and pregnant - natural conception - so definitely possible
Good luck ☺️
