6.5 week scan with a very small embryo

pregnancy scan at 6 weeks 3 days of embryo very small at 2.7mm (at least 1 week behind) whilst yolk and gestational sac are 6 weeks 3 days. no heartbeat. going for another scan in 1 week.

I had an SCH which they said has recovered but i also had some bleeding inside the uterus which is an indication of a non-viable pregnancy, caused by the embryo.

has anyone experienced this before where the embryo is delayed in growing. I have a 70% chance of miscarriage at this point

Unfortunately yes and my subsequent scan confirmed an impending miscarriage. Best of luck to you.

I also had a scan at 6w3d. CRL was 2.8mm with a heartbeat which I was told was "consistent with dates" and was measuring only 1 day behind at 8 weeks. Fingers crossed for you OP 🤞

That's really lovely to hear! We had no heartbeat though, but I'm holding out for growth over the next week. Hope everything continues well for you 🥰

Sorry Peletro. How did your scan go a week later? I have nerves was everything ok in the end?

Hiya! No it wasn't unfortunately. I had a confirmed miscarriage at 7.5 weeks. Took 2 medicated abortions that didn't work so I had surgery a few weeks ago and finally on the mend. Still testing positive but it is decreasing.

This doesn't happen for everyone though. I also had a confirmed angular pregnancy on the day of my op which may or may not have been the cause of the embryo failing. Need 2 months rest before IVF again.
