Cervical ectropion bleeding

Hello!
So I had some light spotting/streaking of blood at the weekend and after a visit to maternity triage they said it was Cervical ectropion. He explained it was harmless etc and said it could happen again etc.
That was Saturday morning, it has bled on and off since then and where as at first (TMI) it was just when I wiped this morning there was small amounts of blood in my underwear etc!
I rang the triage on Sunday and the midwife was lovely and said I could go back up if I wanted checking etc but she also said it would probably be the same outcome as the day before.
Today the bleeding is still here on and off and Im driving myself mad about whether to ring up again/my midwife to check and see if it's still just what to expect. I feel like I'm in limbo as to whether I need to get checked again etc - I'm 25 weeks along!
Has anyone else had any experience with this?

I have had bleeding throughout this pregnancy after intercourse and was told I have cervical ectropion after an examination a couple of weeks back. The doctor said it’s caused by pregnancy hormones and nothing to worry about. I didn’t have fully bleeding though, just more spotting when wiping during and after that disappeared shortly after. You can just call and get another opinion if you’re concerned. I’m 27 weeks. The doctor was not concerned at all in my case but every case is different x

Thank you for sharing! I don't know what has triggered this as there was no intercourse/vigorous exercise etc. they were very reassuring I think it's more me panicking!

Hi there, I've had almost exactly the same - spotting from a probable ectropion, started at 25 weeks and continued on and off for a month! No clear cause, no exercise or sex, it just kept on coming and going for that time. If it's not bright red and profuse you're probably totally fine (mine ranged in colour), but don't feel bad about getting it checked if you're worried.

My cervical ectropian used to bleed if I sneezed or coughed or laughed. Pregnancy makes them even more prone to bleed. I ended up having treatment for it (after pregnancy).

Thank you! Iv never had it before or in my previous pregnancy. I have a low lying Placenta also (which I had in previous pregnancy and it moved but I did have bleed with that at 28 weeks). It's so hard because I think in pregnancy we automatically fear when it's anything to do with blood!

Hello,

I’m currently 32 weeks and had similar since 25 weeks. Had a small amount of spotting around 25 weeks and was told in triage it was due to a ectropion. I totally understand the worry that comes with it being ongoing as any sign of blood just makes you think the worst. Mine has appeared maybe 3 times since then, lasting 2-3 days but has always cleared up after that. Just had to tell myself if it wasn’t getting heavier and it was only a small amount, it was due to the ectropion and nothing else has ever came from it. Mine was aggravated due to thrush, but I was told sex, exercise, even having a bad cold and coughing a lot or just the fact we’re more vascular due to pregnancy can cause them to bleed!

Thank you for sharing your experience. It seems to have hopefully stopped tonight so I'm hoping that it is done with.
It's interesting to hear about some possible triggers so I will keep and eye on those!

Hey! Sorry to jump in on this post, I have exactly the same. I had bleeding and spotting throughout my first trimester which seemed to stop at 9 weeks. Then at 14weeks I had minor spotting where i was diagnosed with a cervical ectropion. I’m nearly 19 weeks and it’s still happening and I am just crushed with anxiety!
It’s nice to hear that people do have this and have successfully pregnancies!
